New York – Skip Intro Advisors, the only consulting group in cannabis with expertise in legal, strategic, financial, branding, and technology services, is pleased to welcome former Dope Magazine CEO David Tran to its elite group of advisors.
“David has been a leader and pioneer in the cannabis industry for years and we are fortunate that he is able to join us and take part in the work that we are doing at Skip Intro Advisors. He understands how critical knowledge of the industry paired with mainstream business is going to be the lynchpin to helping companies scale and grow. His reputation and track record in the space speak for his talents and we couldn’t be happier to have him join the Skip Intro team,” said David Feldman, Co-Founder and CEO of Skip Intro Advisors.
“For the past several years, I have worked with several of the advisors at Skip Intro in one facet or another in the industry, so it was an easy call for me to join the Skip Intro team and work side-by-side with this talented group of cannabis professionals. We are not just looking at tomorrow, but five, ten years down the line and can give our clients the expertise and certainty that they are looking for in trusted business partners,“ said David Tran.
Tran began his entrepreneurial pursuits as the founder of an event promotions company in 2000, Old Skool Entertainment, before opening some of Seattle’s top venues including Venom Nightclub, Amber Restaurant and Lounge, Chao Bistro and Cowgirls Inc. which is celebrating its 16th year of business.
In 2011, he co-founded a Seattle medical marijuana dispensary called Conscious Care Cooperative, where he conceived of the idea of Dope Magazine, a cannabis lifestyle brand. He served as the CEO and Board Member of that company and eventually took the role of Dope Media Brand Director after facilitating the sale to Hightimes Media for $11.2MM.
In 2019, Tran co-founded, with James Zachodni, Farechild, an all-inclusive event production and marketing platform dedicated to connecting the cannabis industry. In that same year he started a consulting company with partner Brad Songhurst, Goldfingers Group, building and selling Greenstone, a 20k sq ft cannabis facility in Denver and providing consulting services for notable companies such as Freddys Fuego in WA and Two Buds, a fully integrated vertical in MA. In 2021, GF acquired Bonghurst, a i502 Tier 3 Cannabis Producer/Processing Facility in Washington State. He also serves on advisory boards for AMMA Hemp, Sensi Media and Intev Technology.
